We are some of the few people that can truly save the world. If we appreciate our Indian heritage and preserve their worth and teachings, we will love and respect mother earth, we can listen to the spirits that guide us to a clear destruction where humankind is headed- and it seems to be deaf, we must make them awaken; With their consumer policy they behave like a plague taking entire forests and natural resources without measuring how long is this madness sustainable. The economic models based on paper are so illusory that at any minute a world crisis could arise. The selfish upbringing in that individuals just see for themselves reflects the isolation and disconnected we are from the whole. A selfish society thinks somebody's loss is another's gain. Our elders taught us that the engine of society is not selfishness, but common good is where prosperity reigns. Somebody's loss is everybody's loss. We need a society sensible and that allows the development of fine individuals, but always when the ends are beneficial, positive for society as a whole.

So, in this urgent moments, of life or death- the indigenous movement presents itself in several parts of the world, waiting patiently for it's turn to shift gears on a threat of total destruction.

I know this sounds alarmist, perhaps even a little crazy, even more so for the ones who do not understand the Indian point of view. To all of you I beg a little patience, if I am wrong and changes are made, there is nothing lost; but if we do not act now, our children and grandchildren will pay harsh consequences.

 

 

 

Get near, even if it's just out of curiosity, understand this point of view. Truly I want to be wrong in this, but with sorrow I see how fields are grown with chemicals forcing a production on the land that after a while are rendered sterile. Land drained and rendered useless, but because it's more "profitable" for corporations to move on and look for land elsewhere, the fields are abandoned and forgotten, people who never learned to love the land. Destiny will catch up though, fertile soil is becoming more and more scarce, and abandoned land is taking much longer to recuperate. How long will we be able to keep this up? We must open our eyes, make our voice be heard, of becoming warriors.

As you surely know by now, the one that has the sacred name of Mexikano has been taught with the old ways, with those teachings he can accomplish anything, there are no impossibles or problems to complicated. Today, truly we need many of these warriors that can turn around this situation. Those who have decided to wear that name, must take a step forward, they have a compromise with the whole world to live up to. While there is even one of these chicano warriors, there is still hope.
